Become a Friend
Who are we?
Friends of Theatre by the Lake was formed to continue the support and interest generated when TBTL was being built. With around 2,000 members we are one of the largest Friends groups in Britain and have raised more than £660,000 since the theatre opened in 1999. As a registered charity (no. 1108747) we are independent of the theatre and run solely by volunteers.
Our main aim is to help and support the theatre by donating the bulk of the money we receive from membership fees, donations, recovered Gift Aid and from fund-raising activities. Over the years our contributions have gone towards supporting the theatre's home produced productions, as well as several projects including a new Box Office system, purchase of specialist lighting and equipment, sponsoring actors and new directors, supporting the commission of new plays and enabling more young people to participate in the arts.
