Abigail is delighted to be back at TBL after directing Colder than Here (2012) and See How They Run (2013). As a freelancer she has directed over 80 productions nationwide, most recently: Pride and Prejudice for Two Actors, playing at Theatre by the Lake as part of an extensive tour; a new adaptation of The Canterbury Tales created for Guildford Shakespeare Company; and a rock ‘n’ roll panto at the Key Theatre, Peterborough. Abigail is Associate Director of Gonzo Moose, touring devised comedy shows to rural venues and small/mid-scale theatres. Shows include: I’m an Aristocrat, Get Me Out of Here! and Is That a Bolt in Your Neck?, as well as Christmas shows at the Pegasus Theatre, Oxford: Grimm and Grimmer and What the Dickens? Abigail was also Associate Director at the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds from 2008-11. Productions there and on tour include: Dick Turpin’s Last Ride, Much Ado About Nothing, The Two of Us, Cider with Rosie, The Merchant of Venice, Three Men in a Boat, Twelfth Night and Art, as well as numerous ‘Restoring the Repertoire’ readings and three pantomimes. She has worked as an Assistant Director at the Royal Shakespeare Company and Shakespeare’s Globe, as well as directing Platform readings for the Royal National Theatre. She regularly teaches at drama schools including Drama Studio London. Abigail is proud to be a volunteer with Scene and Heard, a unique mentoring project that partners the inner-city children of Somers Town, London with volunteer theatre professionals.
