Old Herbaceous

By Reginald Arkell, adapted by Alfred Shaughnessy Fri 2 - Sat 3 June | 7.30pm

Peter Macqueen returns to Theatre by the Lake as Old Herbaceous, celebrating ten tears since he first performed the role at the theatre.

Pottering amongst the seeds and cuttings of his ramshackle greenhouse is Herbert Pinnegar.

Now in his twilight years, he recounts his journey from orphan boy to legendary head gardener Old Herbaceous, and of his friendship with the lady of the Manor, Mrs Charteris. Sown with seeds of wisdom, this charming one-man show is a love story… with plants. A humorous portrayal of a single-minded, gentle, yet passionate man.
