Members Event: Peter MacQueen ‘Coming to a Village Hall near you!’

Wednesday 19 March | 2pm

25th anniversary talks exclusively for TBTL Members

Inspiring and insightful events for Members to come together, arranged by some of the original Friends of Theatre by the Lake whose support over many years has been instrumental to the creation and continued success of our theatre.
Peter Macqueen will be our first speaker in 2025, following on from his appearance as part of the We Are 25 Anniversary Exhibition.
Known and loved locally, Peter MacQueen is a distinguished performer and playwright  who moved his family to Keswick to follow the creative opportunities he found at Theatre by the Lake.

Peter first came to us during our time as a Rep theatre, forming part of a company of actors performing as part of the Rep season at Theatre by the Lake. He went on to perform in, support, and write several plays at TBTL. One of Peter’s most memorable performances was as Scrooge in A Christmas Carol back in 2008. It sparked a column in the Keswick Reminder, Scrooge Diaries, and went on to become a one-man show, which he still tours in rural areas. Peter’s latest play, The Butterfly Collector, featured in CumbriaFest as part of our 25th anniversary programme.
