Richard Askwith: Twenty Years of Feet in the Clouds

Sat 8 June | 12:30pm

In 2004, Richard Askwith published what was expected to be a very niche memoir, about his passion for the then obscure sport of fell-running. Two decades later, Feet in the Clouds is recognised as a modern classic, and fell-running is far from obscure. To mark the launch of an updated anniversary edition, the author reflects on 20 years of change, in the sport, in the fells, in publishing, and in his own sporting life.

“Askwith is arguably running’s finest writer, and this is his finest book: a hymn to the ecstasy and agony of fell running.” Runner’s World
