Kickstart – Customer Experience Assistant

As a customer experience assistant, you will support the Customer Experience team members to help ensure that all audiences, customers and participants have an excellent experience of Theatre by the Lake, from their initial enquiry through to their visit.

House and event management – Working with the Customer Experience Team member on duty for a performance, you will assist with the running of the Front of House operation to ensure that all aspects run smoothly, including helping with volunteer training sessions. You will also provide practical support for events other than performances Front of House at Theatre by the Lake.

Sales – Initially you will assist with the handing out of tickets pre-performance and answering customers enquiries, working towards learning the ticket sales system and progress to selling tickets to the public. You will maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of events, products and facilities, and be aware of how to gain further information.

Customer service – you will work with the Customer Experience Team to ensure that all Covid-safe measures are undertaken and all procedures are implemented.

You will be outgoing, polite, confident and happy to engage with people. You will have excellent communication skills (especially face-to-face) and be able to work unsociable hours.

You are confident, reliable, welcoming and enthusiastic and be a real team player who will work hard to support colleagues.

Although not essential, you may have experience of working in a busy customer-facing role and cash handling. You will hopefully be a confident IT user, including use of MS Outlook, Word and Excel. You should have good numeracy skills and the ability to deal accurately with cash and card transactions.

Working times will vary and be advised at least 7 days in advance wherever possible.

You will have a designated mentor during your journey with us, who will make sure that you get the support and training that you need to excel in this job and progress beyond it.

We will create a bespoke training plan for you and invest in relevant training to both enable you to safely do your work with us, but also to provide you with evidenced based experience to take on to another job. Some of this we will deliver in house and on the job, with our existing team – this will be focused on the skills that you will need to fulfil this job. At other times we may enrol you in online and offsite training with specialist providers.
