THE BARBER OF SEVILLE

Synopsis

Pre-show talk by Artistic Director of Swansea City Opera Brendan Wheatley at 6.15pm.

The Barber of Seville is Rossini’s most famous comic opera.Set in Seville in the late 18th Century, a young Spanish nobleman, Count Almaviva, is in love with the beautiful and rich Rosina, ward of the lecherous Doctor Bartolo. Along comes the meddling Figaro, the town barber, and we have all the ingredients for confusion and mayhem. Rossini’s most famous opera is a revival of SCO’s hugely successful 2011 production. Peppered with razor-sharp wit and a plot that’s full of twists and turns, it’s a rollicking evening’s entertainment.

This show contains a short flashing light sequence.
