Jack is immortal. He’s also a larger-than-life rambunctious character who likes a pint of ale. Every 100 years he staggers back to the same pub, in the hope of seeing the only person in the world who might recognise and remember him: Rose.

Drown Your Empty Selves is a charming, surprising and uplifting tale that careers through the last 500 years of British history and charts the journey of the local boozer, its dedicated drinkers and an extraordinary love affair.
