We’ve refreshed our membership after listening carefully to feedback from our audiences and existing members. Our aim was to make sure membership offers real value for money, a wider range of benefits, and more ways to get closer to our theatre, our productions, and the work we do in the community. 

Please note, your membership will move to the nearest appropriate tier at no extra cost, meaning you’ll automatically start receiving the new, additional benefits from 4 November 2025. For a full list of benefits, please visit our membership page. As your existing renewal date approaches, we’ll be in touch to discuss what you’d like to do. 

We have three memberships to choose from. Members enjoy a range of benefits depending on their chosen tier, including: 

• Discounted tickets for Theatre by the Lake productions in the Main House across our seasons. To find out which shows are included, please visit our What’s On page and look out for the MADE BY TBTL tag, ask at Box Office, or check out the Members Events board near Box Office. 

• Discounts across our venue, including the bar, shop, and café restaurant 

• Priority booking for selected productions and events. We will remind you of upcoming priority booking periods as part of your monthly Members Newsletter. 

• Invitations to exclusive behind-the-scenes experiences and member-only events. 

• Regular insider news and updates from the theatre team. 

• The chance to support our charitable work and help us grow our community programmes.

We offer a range of membership levels to suit different budgets and interests. Each level comes with its own set of benefits, from ticket discounts to VIP events and recognition. Full pricing and benefit details are available on our membership page. 

Membership lasts for 12 months from the date you join (or renew). We’ll remind you when your membership is due for renewal, so you don’t miss out on any benefits. You can also now opt to auto-renew, which will means your membership continues at the same tier, without having to go through the renewal process. 

If you’re an existing member, thank you! You don’t need to take any immediate action. Your membership will continue as normal, and you’ll automatically start receiving the new, additional benefits from 4 November 2025. For a full list of benefits, please visit our membership page. Yes, if you’d like to enjoy additional benefits, you can upgrade your membership at any time. Just contact our Box Office team and we’ll be happy to help. 

Theatre by the Lake is a registered charity. Your membership plays a vital role in helping us:

• Deliver outreach and education work with communities across Cumbria. 

• Keep theatre accessible for future generations. 

By becoming a member, you’re directly contributing to the future of live theatre in Keswick and across Cumbria. 

Every ticket purchased is a huge help, and we’re so grateful for that support. Membership is simply another way to support Theatre by the Lake, whilst deepening your connection with us. Membership allows you to enjoy discounts on tickets and much more, get closer to the work we do, and make an even bigger difference to our future. Absolutely. A membership makes a wonderful gift for anyone who loves theatre. Our Box Office team can help you arrange a gift membership or you can visit our membership page and select ‘Buy Gift’ under the membership type you’d like to purchase. 

Both are hugely valuable. A donation is a one-off or ongoing gift that directly supports our charitable work, we’re grateful for every donation we get and if you opt-in to Gift Aid we can claim an additional 25% from HMRC on top for free. Membership combines support with tangible benefits, events, and experiences, it’s a way to give and receive at the same time.

Our Champion and Patron memberships come with two free ice cream vouchers. These will be automatically loaded onto your account and you will be able to book your ice creams online. Alternatively, you can visit Box Office and they will facilitate your order and vouchers. 

Patrons are entitled to guest passes for TBTL productions. To book your guest passes, please email: Patrons@theatrebythelake.com  

As a member you can book onto a theatre trip by contacting Box Office who will provide you with the cost of the trip. Please note, the cost is not included in your membership.  

You are welcome to book guests onto the trip, subject to availability – please enquire at Box Office.
