Her new book charts the theatre’s remarkable evolution: from a mobile aluminium “Blue Box” hauled around the country to a thriving cultural landmark on the shores of Derwentwater. It’s a story filled with bold ideas, near‑impossible hurdles and the partnership that steered the project for 25 years. Along the way come appearances from Judi Dench, Michael Williams, Prince Charles and the many Cumbrian artists, fundraisers and visionaries who helped turn a dream into a building.

Join us for an evening of insight, humour and behind‑the‑scenes stories from the woman who lived every step of the journey.

A combined ticket includes a seat at the event and a copy of the book. The book will also be available to buy from the theatre shop on the night.
