The Home

Uma Taylor is a robust, curious seven-year-old, living with her family Ronnie, Shaheen, Raj and Eric in 1950s working-class London. When, inexplicably, the local health association sends her to a rural children’s convalescence home – promising fresh air, food and exercise – she finds a harsh house of terrifying figures, large and small. Armed with sharp wit and her trusty teddy, Uma plots her escape…

Using a raucous blend of new writing, physical theatre and music, solo performer Genevieve Sabherwal plays multiple characters. Based on true stories.
