Case study: CumbriaFest – Celebrating Creativity in Cumbria
CumbriaFest is all about celebrating Cumbrian talent and sharing new stories from our region. It’s a space where anyone can get involved, whether you’re writing your first play, performing on stage, or simply coming along to soak up the atmosphere.
We are determined to shout about the amazing talent in Cumbria, and although there aren’t enough opportunities for Cumbrian theatre makers to grow their craft or share their work nationally, we want to bridge that gap and CumbriaFest is a great step in the right direction.
Through this festival we invest in artists right here in Cumbria, building confidence, connection, and creativity from the ground up.
Showcases vary year-on-year but you can always expect to find:
- New plays from emerging Cumbrian writers
- Scratch performances showcasing fresh ideas in progress
- Workshops and development sessions for all experience levels
- Food and conversation events that bring people together
At its heart, CumbriaFest is a catalyst for new ideas, rooted in our place, inspired by our people, and open to everyone.
