Duncan Macmillan is a writer and director for theatre, television, and film.

His plays include Lungs, People, Places and Things, Every Brilliant Thing, and adaptations of George Orwell’s 1984 (with Robert Icke), Paul Auster’s City Of Glass, Friederike Mayröcker’s Reise Durch die Nacht, Henrik Ibsen’s Rosmersholm and An Enemy of the People and Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull (with Thomas Ostermeier).

Most recently, he adapted Game of Thrones: The Mad King for the RSC.

His work has been translated into 66 languages and staged worldwide, including at the National Theatre, the Old Vic, the Royal Court, Almeida, Barbican, St Ann’s Warehouse, Melbourne Theatre Company, Berliner Ensemble, Hamburg Schauspielhaus, Vesturport, Nationaltheatret Oslo and in the repertory of the Schaubühne Berlin, as well as the Edinburgh Fringe, Salzburg Festival, Festival d’Avignon, Theatertreffen, and multiple productions in the West End and on Broadway.

1984, People, Places and Things, Rosmersholm, Every Brilliant Thing and The Seagull were all nominated for Olivier Awards, and his work has been recognised with Drama Desk, Drama League and Tony nominations.

Liz Stevenson is Artistic Director and joint CEO of Theatre by the Lake. Liz was formerly the co-founder and Artistic Director of Junction 8 Theatre, making new productions with for and about the community in her hometown of Chorley, Lancashire. In 2018 she was the Associate Director on the UK and Ireland tour of the National Theatre’s production of Macbeth. In 2015 she won the JMK Young Director Award and directed Barbarians at the Young Vic. Barbarians was nominated for an Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre.

Matt is a lighting designer and educator who has collaborated UK-wide and internationally for the past 18 years. Matt is the Head of Lighting at RADA in London and recently delivered a lighting course at the National School of Drama, New Delhi, India.
