Open casting call – UK Tour of ‘Steel’

Closing date: Fri 31 Jan
Open Casting Call for the UK tour of Steel.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Beautiful and breath-stopping” The Stage

On the wet West Cumbrian coast, James and Kamran want for little more than a few spare quid and a weekend getting fuzzy. At seventeen, any other world would be theirs but Workington’s a ghost town – demoted to unemployment blackspot with the death of its steelyards while the lucrative Lake District grins in the distance.

But when James discovers he owns one mile of the British Railway System – won by his Great-Great-Great-Grandfather as the bounty of some bizarre bet – a mile worth a million – the whole town wants a piece of it. Because everyone who worked those yards has a claim to the fortune and in order to make their dreams a reality, James and Kamran must first admit them.

Steel is about first love and forging a queer identity in a northern town.

Steel is touring to a mixture of studio theatres at venues including Sheffield Theatres, Hull Truck, The Dukes and Brixton House, and rural touring networks across the UK.
