Terms and Conditions
Theatre by the Lake operates a dynamic pricing policy, which means our prices can fluctuate according to demand. For more information please speak to a member of our Box Office team. This policy means that:
- Our cheapest seats (£10) are now on or near the front row
- Seats get more expensive the further back you sit and as demand increases
- The atmosphere and experience of each performance is much better for audience and actor alike (as we sell seats closest the stage first)
- Prices are no longer fixed (they may go up) so it’s, really important to book early
- Last minute tickets may be more expensive
Tickets booked more than seven days in advance will be posted for a charge of 70p. Tickets booked within seven days of a performance date will be held for collection at the Box Office.
Performances start promptly – please note that latecomers may not be admitted, or where admission is possible, until a suitable break which, on occasion, may be the interval.
Gift vouchers: the perfect present
Gift vouchers are available online and from Box Office and can be used to purchase tickets for all performances at Theatre by the Lake.
We also sell National Theatre Tokens. Vouchers are valid for 24 months from day of purchase. All other terms and conditions apply. Gift vouchers are non-refundable. Once an online gift voucher has been partially used, any remaining credit can only be used against the same account.
Strobe lighting, smoke and stage effects may be used in productions and will not be advised on printed material as they may not be known until the day of the performance. Please contact us if you have particular concerns.
Where possible we do indicate if strong language and/or adult content is used. Customers are advised to contact Box Office with any concerns before booking tickets.
Tickets which have not been paid for within five days of reservation (or for late bookers, one hour before the performance) will be offered for re-sale.
Please see our school booking policy.
Only one discount per ticket is permitted. Discounts cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer and cannot be applied retrospectively. All discounts and offers subject to availability.
For groups of 10+, we offer great % discounts. Contact our Box Office to discuss your unique offer. Other discount conditions apply.
Under 26 tickets
Tickets are subject to availability. Presentation of valid photo ID (student card, 16-25 railcard, driving license) may be required for entry. Other discount conditions apply.
Children under the age of four will only be admitted to shows featuring the Family Friendly tag and Relaxed Performances. Booster seats are available on request. Babes in arms (up to 18 months) will not be charged, but do require a baby ticket from Box Office. Theatre by the Lake cannot accept responsibility for unaccompanied children.
Every effort is made to avoid alterations to the programme. However, Theatre by the Lake reserves the right to cancel or alter events if this is unavoidable. We will try to contact all ticketholders affected and apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
Ticket exchange and refunds
If you inform us at least 48 hours before an event, we will be happy to exchange your tickets or hold a credit for you against a future booking (excluding tickets bought as part of a Season Ticket). There is a £1 fee per ticket for this service (with a maximum charge of £10 per transaction). We regret that we are unable to give refunds unless the event is cancelled. For information on our refunds policy for groups and tickets bought as part of a package, please contact Box Office on 017687 74411.
Requests to Box Office for changes or adjustments to be made to ticket orders should be made by the person named on the order. We are unable to accept such requests from other parties. TBTL will issue a refund to you using the same method of payment you used to purchase the tickets.
Tickets bought as part of a Season Ticket are only eligible for advertised shows. Customers who advise us in advance of 48 hours before an event may exchange their ticket for another performance to the same advertised show, subject to availability. No partial refunds will be issued. Other ticket exchange and refund conditions apply.
Theatre by the Lake credit can be used for all performances at the venue. Credit is valid for 5 years from date of issue and is non-refundable. Credit is non-transferable.
