An experienced voice-over artist with her own voiceover studio, she has provided voices for various projects and is an established audiobook narrator, with titles available on Audible and iTunes. She is a Lecturer in Acting at Leeds Conservatoire and also works as a Voice and Presentation Coach: groarketalk.co.uk. Sarah runs Kickstart Drama clubs for primary children, and, having a MA in Music, and is a highly regarded brass band conductor and adjudicator.

Rachel trained as an actor musician at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.

Fenella grew up in Hull, before studying Drama at Birmingham University. She has since worked extensively in the theatre. Recent work includes Ladies Unleashed for Hull Truck Theatre and she is about to put in her fourth appearance in Casualty for the BBC, this time as Linda Owens, a lady with a very unpleasant leg injury!

Thomas is an actor, originally from West Cumbria and a 2024 graduate of Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

He is delighted to be returning to Theatre by the Lake for Calendar Girls, marking a full-circle moment after making his theatre debut at the venue.

Leah is a versatile performer from Keswick.

She trained in Musical Theatre at The Arden School of Theatre. Roles whilst in training include Julie Jordan in Carousel, Mal Beineke in The Addams Family, Frenchie/Ensemble Swing in Sweet Charity, and "A Quiet Thing" Soloist in And the World Goes 'Round.

Alongside performing, Leah enjoys working as a singing tutor, and is also a keen violinist.

She is delighted to be making her professional debut in Calendar Girls at Theatre by the Lake this Summer.

Sol Taibi graduated from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 2024 and received the 'JustAddMilk' scholarship. He also trained with the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain.

Tim was born and has lived his entire life in the North West of the UK. He was educated at Appleton Hall School in Warrington then at King’s College, Cambridge where he set up a theatre company with Sam Mendes and wrote for the Footlights comedy team, with whom he later created the award-winning radio series And Now In Colour on Radio 4.

Tim’s theatre credits include Now Is Good (Chester Storyhouse, UK Theatre Nomination Best New Musical), This Is My Family (Sheffield Crucible, UK Theatre Award Best New Musical), Neville’s Island (Nottingham Playhouse and West End, Evening Standard & Olivier nomination, MEN Award), The Safari Party (Stephen Joseph, Scarborough and Hampstead), the musical Our House (West End, Olivier Award Best Musical), The Flint Street Nativity (Liverpool Playhouse) and Sign Of The Times (West End). His play Calendar Girls (Chichester Festival Theatre, West End) broke all British records for a professional and amateur play, was nominated for an Olivier and won the Whatsonstage Best Comedy Award. Calendar Girls The Musical, co-written with Gary Barlow, opened at Leeds Opera house and transferred to the Phoenix Theatre, winning a Whatsonstage Award and an Olivier nomination, and his musical The Band (Manchester Opera House, West End) won the MEN best Musical award. Tim recently collaborated with Gary Barlow on the show A Different Stage (West End).

Work for television includes the Playhouse drama Timeless. His other TV credits include Money For Nothing (Writer’s Guild Award), Once Upon A Time In The North, Cruise Of The Gods, The Flint Street Nativity, Preston Front (Writer’s Guild Award, British Comedy Award, RTS Award, BAFTA nomination), His children’s comedy series The Rottentrolls won a BAFTA and was recently voted by Radio Times one of the top fifty children’s shows of all time.

Gary is one of Britain’s most successful songwriters and record producers. As part of Take That, he has won eight BRIT Awards and sold over 45 million records. Aside from his achievements with his fellow bandmates, he has released six solo albums and co-written and produced music for other renowned artists, including Dame Shirley Bassey, Sir Elton John and Robbie Williams.

Last year, he hit the road for a huge solo tour, The Songbook Tour 2025, which celebrated his illustrious four-decade-spanning career. Barlow delighted sell-out audiences around the UK with an array of songs from his much-celebrated back catalogue of hits with both Take That and as a solo artist. Summer 2026 sees him take to the road again when Take That bring their record-breaking Circus Live to stadiums across the UK and Ireland.

Paul is Artistic Director of the SJT for whom he has directed Noises Off, Love’s Labour’s Lost (more or less), The Whitby Rebels, Dracula: The Bloody Truth, Beauty and the Beast (winner of the 2024 UK Theatre Award for Best Show for Children and Young People), The 39 Steps(2018 and 2023), The Comedy of Errors (more or less) (UK Theatre Award nominee), Constellations, Brief Encounter, The Offing, The Snow Queen, Stepping Out, Alice in Wonderland, Build a Rocket (‘Play of the Year’, The Stage), A (Scarborough) Christmas Carol, Goth Weekend, Pinocchio and The Rise and Fall of Little Voice.  

Paul was Artistic Director of Theatre503 until 2016, during which time the theatre was turned into a multi-award-winning new writing powerhouse. His productions of And Then Come the Nightjars, A Handful of Stars and Land of Our Fathers garnered a total of 12 Off West End Award nominations, including Best Director. Other credits include the acclaimed My Mother Said I Never Should at The Other Palace Theatre (starring Maureen Lipman) and Honour at The Park Theatre (starring Henry Goodman and Imogen Stubbs.)

Musical director, orchestrator and arranger credits include over four dozen musicals including professional, fringe, college and community environments. Alex also works as a performing arts consultant at Scarborough College helping to bring current industry practises and contacts into their education setting.

As an actor/singer he’s appeared in the West End, sung session vocals, performed in cabaret and production shows, and toured the UK and internationally with musicals and light opera.

Alex directs musicals and pantomimes and is Artistic Director for Scarborough Theatre Company, championing community talent and those in training.

Composition and writing work ranges from underscoring plays to short films, commissioned cabaret songs, production shows and promenade performances in historic houses. Musicals include Happily Ever After?, Doctor Dolittle, Treasure Island, Pinocchio, The Wind in the Willows and, later this year, Hairy Bob’s Christmas Jumper for the SJT.

Stephanie trained at Millennium Performing Arts.

Choreography credits include Jhalak Diklha Jaa, India’s version of Strictly Come Dancing (BBC Asia, MTV, SONY, Eros Entertainment), Zara Nachke Dikha (SYTYCD), The International Indian Film Academy Awards and Let's Dance. She has worked on over 300 music videos and movie songs and choreographed more than 50, some of which are currently on Netflix and Prime. She has choreographed for the likes of Riteish Deshmukh, Dwanye Bravo, Sunny Leone and Hrithik Roshan.

Simon is an Olivier-nominated composer who has composed original music for over 400 theatre, film, television and radio productions. He is an Associate Artist at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, where productions include: Murder for Two, Noises Off, Love’s Labour’s Lost (more or less), The Whitby Rebels, Dracula: The Bloody Truth, The 39 Steps, The Comedy of Errors (more or less), Jane Eyre, Brief Encounter, The Rise and Fall of Little Voice and all of the SJT’s Christmas shows since 2016.

Other recent theatre compositions include: Ruth the Musical (Wilton's Music Hall); Black Comedy (Orange Tree Theatre); Ghosts (Lyric, Hammersmith); Wilko (Southwark Playhouse/Leicester Square Theatre); Whatever Happened to Phoebe Salt (New Vic); Constellations (West End, Royal Court, New York; nominated for an Olivier); Twelfth Night, Princess Essex (Shakespeare’s Globe); Test Match, Brief Encounter, The BFG, James and the Giant Peach (Octagon, Bolton); Private Lives, Europe (Donmar); Amadeus (National Theatre 2017 and 2018); Killology (Sherman/Royal Court, winner of an Olivier 2018).

TV and film includes scores for Holby City, Dalziel and Pascoe, The Trial of Christine Keeler, Traitors, My One and Only, Inquisition, And Then Come the Nightjars.

Chantell is the Stephen Joseph Theatre’s former Associate Director. She worked on various projects during her time at the SJT. She was Associate Director on the hilarious adaptation of Love’s Labour’s Lost (more or less) and on the 2025 summer co-production, Pride & Prejudice.

Chantell directed the SJT’s 70th birthday party bash and most recently the heart-warming Christmas show for under-sixes, Wonkey Donkey and the Magic Christmas Carrot.

She has also worked in collaboration with North Yorkshire Council to create a short film, More Than a Boxing Club – Westway ABC (find it on YouTube).

For Black Bright Theatre, she directed the award-winning folk horror show Birdwatching, which played at the SJT last November.

Annelie is a Casting Director for theatre, TV and film. She is also Creative Associate at Jonathan Church Theatre Productions and works with a variety of theatres on a freelance basis.
