Whispers of the Summer Breeze: Tales for the Longest Day

Tuesday 16 - Thursday 18 June | 7:30pm

An evening of traditional storytelling

From the creator of Whisper of the Winter Hearth: Tales for Longest Night comes a midsummer companion; a celebration of light at its fullest, unfolding around Midsummer’s Day, when the sun lingers longest in the sky.

Traditional stories inspired by Indigenous cultures from across the world, each exploring a different relationship with the sun. In some lands, light must be lifted; in others, it must be restored, woven into rhythm, or welcomed back with gratitude.

As the evening unfolds, stories of courage, balance, and transformation rise like the sun itself, culminating in the epic tale of Māui, who dared to challenge the sky and reshape the length of the day.

Blending mythic storytelling with quiet moments of intimacy, Whispers of the Summer Breeze invites audiences to come together at the height of summer, at that turning point around Midsummer’s Day, and contemplate what it truly means to live in relationship with the light.
