The Recruitment Process
We believe in making the recruitment process as easy as possible, and that’s why you’re able to contact us to ask questions from the moment you see the vacancy and throughout the application process.

All applications are received by our recruitment team, who will make sure that your application is logged and passed on for review.
Whilst we often take applications in either a written CV or application form format, we are happy to receive applications in more accessible formats. If a written application doesn’t suit you, please let us know how you’d like to apply and we can talk about how we make that happen.
Once we have your application and the closing date has passed, we’ll review all of the applications we have received and decide on who to shortlist for interview. If you are shortlisted for interview, we’ll contact you with the arrangements.
We believe in great communication. If your application has been unsuccessful, we will always inform you- so you’ll always hear from us, either way.
The First Interview
Your first interview will usually be with the Line Manager from the department that you’re applying to work within. They’ll also be accompanied by another member of our team. We’ll invite you to meet with us at our Theatre so you can see our environment and we can get to know you. However, we’re happy to accommodate a video interview if that suits you better.
If you need to let us know about any adjustments that make the interview process accessible to you, you can do that either with your application or when we invite you to interview.
The Second Interview
Depending on the role, there may be a second interview where we’ll find out a bit more about you, and you have a further chance to find out if we’re the right employer for you.
If we’re both in agreement that we’re right for each other, we’ll send you a formal job offer detailing your terms and conditions of employment.
If we feel the role isn’t right for you we’ll let you know. You are welcome to apply for future roles of interest.
On joining Theatre by the Lake there’ll be a comprehensive induction and welcome to our team and you’ll be given the support you need to settle in a quickly as possible.
Each induction is different depending on the role and we’ll let you know what that looks like for you.
